Dog Days of Summer: 17 Years of Tails, Treats & Heartwarming Portraits

For 17 amazing years, Dog Days of Summer has been wagging its way into the hearts of pet lovers across Cold Lake, Bonnyville, St. Paul, Pierceland, and beyond. It’s our favourite time of year here at Images Studios, when we turn our lens toward the furry friends who fill our lives with joy, chaos, and unconditional love. And all of it for a paws-itively important cause: supporting the Lakeland Humane Society.

Here’s How Dog Days of Summer Works:

Book a session. Bring a 30lb bag of dog food. Get professional portraits taken of your pet. That’s it. Every bag goes straight to the Lakeland Humane Society to help animals waiting for a second chance.

This year’s Dog Days dates:

June 13 & 14 at Images Studios in Cold Lake

And yes—you can absolutely bring your cat too! We’ve had some real feline supermodels grace the studio over the years. (Pro tip: bring treats, toys, and a touch of patience.)

Pet Photography? ...Even for MY Dog??

Every. Single. Year. Someone says, “There’s no way my dog will sit still for a photo.” And every single year, we prove them wrong with a few tried-and-true tricks.

How I Get the Shot even if Your Pet is…extra

• Shy pups? I let them come to me on their own terms. No sudden moves, lots of patience, and maybe a few irresistible treats.

• Wiggly ones? We embrace the wiggle! I keep things fun and fast with mini breaks and silly sounds that grab their attention.

• High-energy zoom machines? Movement is magic! We’ll capture action shots, mid-air moments, and playful chaos that turns into pure gold on camera.

• Curious cats? Attention-grabbing toys, cozy props… and a perch to rule from. It’s feline-approved.

Your pet doesn’t need to be perfect. They just need to show up. The rest? That’s where I come in.
